As I now have to dress for work in a more corporate way I like to have fun with my outfits at weekends. This weekend has been very cold so I decided that comfort and warmth had to be high on the fashion agenda.
Shearling coats are perfect for that snuggled up feeling and this one is vintage from a charity shop and I'm sure I'll still be wearing it for years to come. I'm not going to lie, I'd love to invest in an Acne aviator jacket but I'm pretty sure that would break the bank. Although this style is vintage, there's lots of styles similar to this on Asos, Zara and Topshop but I've found that vintage styles are warmer and really well made so if you like to hunt for vintage, you might want to search for a more unique style on Depop or eBay.
My shirt is from Charles Tyrwhitt, specialists in formal wear and tailoring. I'm usually a size 8 but this shirt is a size 12 as I like my shirts to be oversized. The quality of this shirt is amazing and I decided to tie this style up into more of a cropped shirt to show off my high-waisted denim.
If you've seen other outfit posts of mine, you may have spotted that Topshop is my go-to place for denim. I've never tried the Jamie jeans before but so far I'm loving this style. They are super tight but the fabric is soft so they are really comfortable. The high waist is very flattering and I also managed to get them in Tall so they are long enough, woo! Long tall Sally's out there, I'm sure you will appreciate my happiness here. I'll definitely be investing in a few more pairs of the Jamie style.
As it's the weekend I've been sporting my metallic silver Addidas Superstar trainers which are my favourite shoes at the moment. They are the ultimate comfort shoes and add an interesting edge to any look.
Lastly, after being inspired by Lisa Potter Dixon's YouTube video on how to create the perfect halo braid I had to give it a go. I did cheat slightly by creating two plaits and crossing them over instead of plaiting all the way round but I was still pretty pleased with the result! If you love makeup tutorials which are easy to recreate, Lisa is Head Makeup Artist at Benefit Cosmetics so her channel is definitely worth checking out!
