So today on the blog I've got a different kind of outfit post for you featuring this gorgeous little black dress kindly sent to me by the lovely ladies over at Luxemme.
If Luxemme is a brand you are unaware of, you'll be be glad you've now got them on your fashion radar. Luxemme is a trend-led fashion brand combining Parisian chic with Manchester street style so all pieces of the collection are stylish and effortless with a modern edge.
Made in Manchester, each piece is of premium quality but with a realistic price tag. I always feel good when I wear a little black dress in the evening so this Nyane Luxe Cut Out High Neck Dress seemed like the perfect choice for me. The cut of the dress is super flattering and although it's a bodycon fit, the fabric is comfortable and isn't too tight which means it's perfect if you're planning to go for a meal and drinks (this is something I always consider when buying a dress for a night out!). The simple high neck detailing and zip back fastening also gives a clean and sophisticated look which I love too. There's also a small split down one side of the dress which gives this style that added edge for a luxe evening look.
As well as offering a versatile range of evening dresses, Luxemme has everything from amazing tailored separates including jumpsuits and blazers to cool co-ords that you can wear together or mix and match with other pieces. Some styles are exclusive too so you're less likely to be arriving in the same look as everyone else!
To complete the look I kept my hair and makeup minimal and teamed this style with my Zara Lace Up Heels and Zara Fringed Bag - they are past season pieces so I've included some similar styles below. On a colder night you could also team this dress with a leather jacket, tights and pointed court shoes.
I hope you've enjoyed this outfit post and make sure you check out Luxemme using the links below:
I must admit, I never really blog about food on Sarah's Style Statement but I was so impressed with these Pampered Chef Peanut Butter & Chocolate Crunch Bars I just had to share this recipe - it's the perfect naughty treat for a lazy Sunday or late night snack although I will be honest, it's a calorie bomb but who cares when it's the weekend!?
For this recipe I used the following ingredients:-
- 1/4 cup (50ml) dry-roasted peanuts - 3 cups (750 ml) pretzels twists with approx 2/3 cup (400ml) coarsely crushed and left aside - 3 cups (750 ml) Rice Krispies - 3/4 cup (175 ml) un-salted butter - 1 bag (10.5 oz or 250g) miniature marshmallows - 1/2 cup (125ml) golden syrup - 3/4 jar of Peanut Butter - 1 cup of Chocolate drops
The beauty of this recipe is you only need to use your fridge and microwave so there's less mess involved, plus they are also ready quicker so there's no waiting around! To make one tray all you need to do is:- 1. Coarsely chop the dry-roasted peanuts using a knife andset aside. Place pretzels into large resealable plastic bag and coarsely crush using a rolling pin and set aside 1/3 cup (75 ml) of the pretzels. Place remaining pretzels and cereal in a mixing bowl. 2. Place 6 tbsp (90 ml) of the un-salted butter in another bowl and microwave on high for 60-90 seconds or until melted. Once melted add marshmallows and microwave again on high for 60-90 seconds. Stir until the marshmallows and butter are completely melted. Then add the marshmallows and butter to the pretzels and rice krispies and mix well. Once mixed, spread the mixture evenly into a medium sized baking tray. 3. In a separate bowl, combine 2 tbsp (30 ml) of the butter and half of the golden syrup and microwave uncovered on high for 60-90 seconds or until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter and mix until melted (the mixture will be thick). Then spread the peanut butter and syrup mixture over the mixture in the baking tray. 4. For the chocolate ganache topping, place remaining butter and golden syrup in a small bowl. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds or until melted. Stir in all the chocolate drops (add more if necessary) and mix until smooth. Spread the chocolate ganache evenly over peanut butter mixture in the baking tray. To decorate sprinkle with peanuts or pretzels, here I've used pretzels. 5. To set, place in the fridge for 30 minutes until the ganache is set. Once you are happy that the mixture is solid, cut into squares, make a cup of tea and enjoy!

Once in a while I love to try a new foundation and although I don't usually sway from Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua, I always like a more full coverage in the Autumn Winter months. I've been super excited by Charlotte Tilbury's range since it launched and investing in the Magic Foundation seemed to be the perfect place to start.
When this foundation says 'magic', it really does mean it. Commuting to London everyday has meant that my skin has started to look a little dishevelled recently and this formula has been the perfect solution to brightening my skin and covering up the dark circles under my eyes.
Despite being a full coverage foundation, this foundation feels weighless once applied to the skin and I've definitely noticed that this formula is great for hiding imperfections such as redness and dark eyes. With SPF15 and other skin enhancing properties, I really do feel as though I'm looking after my skin as opposed to adding a heavy layer of foundation.
When I looked at the shades online I thought I would be shade 1-2 as I have fairly pale skin, but after trying the foundation in-store I was actually advised to go for shade 4 which is a neutral peach shade for light to medium skin tones. This colour is slightly darker than my natural skin tone but blends really well and still looks the right shade with or without fake tan!
The price of this foundation is £29.50 which is pretty standard for a high-end foundation. So far I've only used two pumps per day and it lasts right through from AM to PM and I'm up at 5:45am which is says a lot about the staying power!
The packaging is also pretty beautiful. The bottle is glass, it has a fuss-free pump and a rose gold top, the only thing I would say is I do wish the lid was more secure, but aside from that this foundation is certainly magic and works wonder for me!
