Stella & Dot is a brand I'm completely obsessed with at the moment and it's not hard to figure out why - how gorgeous are these pretty Eva Ear Jacket Earrings? The ear jacket trend has completely taken over as the go-to accessory of the moment as they are the perfect cross between classic studs and longer statement earrings. Large and heavy statement earrings can sometimes feel a little dressy and uncomfortable for everyday wear so this style is an ideal alternative if you still like a little sparkle suitable for day to night wear.

I found out about Stella & Dot after going to a friends home party and as soon as I'd seen the quality of the jewellery collection I had to invest in this style. At £40 this pair of earrings is great value for money as you get two pairs of studs and the earring 'jacket' which is the back of the earring. The flower detail of this style falls just below the ear which looks super pretty whilst the studs can also be worn on their own or mixed and matched with the jackets. The beauty of most of the Stella & Dot pieces is that they can be worn in many different ways so you'll never get bored of each piece.

There's lots of cheaper ear jackets available, however I wanted a quality piece of jewellery that I could wear throughout the seasons and I like the fact this style is subtle but has enough detail to still make a statement. There are many more edgy versions of this ear jacket available at Stella & Dot but this flowery pair suits my style the most. I use these earrings to style up a plain grey tee or I go all out floral with my Topshop daisy print culotte jumpsuit.

I've been trying out some more expensive skincare lately so here's my snapshot review of the Chanel moisturiser of the moment....

The Product:

Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Crème for Normal skin.

What does it do?

I'll start by saying that I have combination skin (oily around the t-zone but dry in patches) so perhaps this formula which is for 'normal skin' isn't exactly right for me. I've used the Hydra Beauty Gel Crème each morning and when first applied this moisturiser feels very cool and fresh which I love when applied at 6am in the morning! However, once massaged into the skin this product dries very quickly until the skin tightens slightly. When you see the word hydrate you expect the results to be dewy, radiant and soft but I found this product to be the exact opposite. I find that this moisturiser dries my skin out once applied which is a real shame. The formula feels moisturised and hydrated at first and then seems to go dry immediately after. However, the positives I can draw from this product is that it does create a good base for foundation as it dries quickly, meaning foundation doesn't slide when it's applied on top. I have also found that a little goes a long way so this product is sure to last a good few months. The packaging is also super luxury and comes in a chunky pot with a secure lid, making this product perfect if you do lots of travelling.

How much does it cost?

£50 for 50ml.

Is it worth the money?

Luckily for me, I was treated to this and it was bought as a duty free purchase. If I'd have splurged £50 on this I think I might have been a little disappointed but this doesn't mean this isn't a great product for other skin types. I just think I could find a slightly cheaper alternative including SPF protection that is more well-suited to my skin type.

Marks out of 10:

7/10 for me sadly, sorry Chanel!
