SUNNY DAYS AND NEW SHOES

What I'm Wearing:

Missoni Sunglasses and Fringed Bag - TKMaxx
Fringed Kimono - Coco Boo (Based in Preston and Halifax)
Knitted Top - New Look
Jeans and Necklace - Topshop
Shoes - Clarks

It's been a while since I've ventured outside to take some outfit shots but as Saturday was such a glorious day I thought I'd show you how I recently styled my latest shoe purchase, a pair of Clarks Hotel Bustle Shoes in Oyster Leather, which you can find here.

With my job, I tend to always be running around whether than means styling a fashion shoot or travelling to London so I wanted a pair of Summer shoes that would be comfortable yet look stylish and I think I found the perfect pair! I've bought so many pairs of ballet pumps and ended up getting rid of them because they've rubbed or caused discomfort so enough was enough, I've finally got myself a decent pair of shoes.

I'll be honest, I probably haven't shopped in Clarks since my school days when they did the amazing black patent shoes with the lock and key design (hopefully some of you will remember those?), but on a more serious note, I found several pairs of shoes that I would quite happily have purchased there and then. They had some gorgeous embellished pointed flats, statement printed skater pumps and some chunky Summer sandals that I wanted but I came out with the Hotel Bustle style which features a cut out, strappy effect in cream leather with side buckle detailing.

When I initially tried them on the leather seemed a little tough but as soon as I'd walked around the house a bit I was ready to roll in no time and I even shopped in Manchester for a full day and they were a complete dream to wear. Here I've worn them with skinny jeans, a rust coloured knitted top and fringed details but because the colour of the shoes is so versatile they could be worn with anything! They're perfect for work and also weekends too so I'm sure I'll get lots of wear out of this style, I'm even tempted to invest in the navy as well - if my budget allows!

RIMMEL OH MY GLOSS #GIVEAWAY

I've got to confess...I've been a bad blogger as of late as work has been manic so to make it up to my fabulous readers I've decided to giveaway a brand new Rimmel Oh My Gloss! lip gloss in the Glossoholic pastel pink shade so you can give it a try and see how amazing they really are!

I'm not always a fan of lip gloss because of the stickiness and the dreaded 'wind and hair situation' but these particular lip glosses are an exception. The application of them is super smooth as opposed to sticky and although the Non Stop Glamour shade has a touch of shimmer, it isn't overly sparkly which means both shades are perfect for everyday wear. I've found that both shades look great with dewy skin, a pop of cream blush on the cheeks and that's all your need for a fresh Summer look.

To enter the Giveaway all you need to do is:

- Follow my blog via Google Friend Connect and leave your email address.
- The Giveaway will run for one week and the winner will be emailed next weekend (30th-31st May).

Good Luck!

REVIEW: SPECTRUM COLLECTIONS MAKEUP BRUSHES

Can we just take a second and talk about how amazing these Spectrum makeup brushes are?

I've had my eye on these makeup brushes for a while so when I spotted a recent half price Bank Holiday promotion I finally caved in and I'm so glad I did.

As I've never tried the brushes before I bought singles instead of a full set and for under £17 I got the Large Fan Brush, Flat Top Contour Brush and the Angled Foundation Brush. Although I'm a fan of the Real Techniques brushes, I think the Spectrum Collection range is more reasonably priced so if you prefer to get a variation of brushes for your money as opposed to just one or two, Spectrum brushes are a must-have.

Each brush features gentle and soft bristles fading from aqua to purple in an ombre effect and I especially love the chunky handles which makes them easy to use when applying both liquid and powder formulas.

The foundation brush I normally use isn't angled so having a pointed tip makes it easier to blend and create an even and flawless finish, whilst the contour brush is works perfectly alongside the Nars contouring blush in Paloma - I wish I'd have invested in this brush sooner as it really helps to create a defined and sleek contoured look. Last but not least is the fabulous fan brush, it's not only a beauty to look at but it's ideal for sweeping blusher or highlighters across the face where the light hits for a lovely Summer glow. I've been using Rimmel's Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Live Pink and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle and as the tips of the brush are darker, it's easier to see how much product you've got on the brush so you can shake off any excess product.

The brushes also come packaged in super handy wallets so they can be transferred from makeup bag to handbag and protected from day to day wear and tear, so they'll stay even prettier for longer.

What do you think of the Spectrum Collections brushes?

TRAVEL: MY FLORENCE PHOTO DIARY

At the beginning of April I was lucky enough to spend a few days in the beautiful place that is Florence with Rory (my other half!) and what a brilliant few days it was. Aside from a few 'slight hiccups' including a diverted plane to Pisa airport, a bus journey to Florence and loss of baggage for 24 hours, the trip was amazing and rather than feeling negative about the whole situation, we ended up seeing the funny side and loved every minute. I'll be sure to visit Florence again soon, but the next time I'll be choosing to fly with a different airline!

Here are the best bits from our trip to Florence...I've captioned each photo in case you fancy escaping and booking a last minute getaway!
The stunning view from the top of the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio.
One of many great cup's of coffee!
An angelic cupid statue spotted inside the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, so so cute.
The unbelievable ceiling artwork inside the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio.
Standard comment from Rory during the trip: 'Why do you keep taking pictures of all the shop windows?'...I was like a kid in a sweetshop the whole time! I got a little snap happy as there was gorgeous leather goods everywhere I turned...
Oh and don't get me started on this delicious breakfast.
The Palazzo Vecchio, situated in the buzzing Piazza Della Signoria, one of the main squares in Florence.
More leather bags...
Pretty in Pink - another favourite window display.
We stayed in the Gallery Art Hotel and it was an amazing experience as it's based right in the heart of the city, making it much easier to explore. We did so much walking but we felt like we'd walked the whole city in just 4 days. You can find more information on this ultra modern 4 star hotel here
The room was stylish yet comfortable and we definitely hope to visit again soon!
As we went around Easter time, the specialist chocolate shops had such amazing displays, and one too many eggs to feast your eyes on, yum!
We discovered this little restaurant whilst exploring the city and we're so glad we did. The place itself is small and friendly and the food is very traditional and cooked in an open kitchen, so you can see all the super fresh ingredients being added to each dish. If you're a foodie, this place is a must visit!
How gorgeous is this little shop? Never seen anything like it, the work that had gone into the shop front was insane and certainly attracted our attention.
Views from outside the Cupola Del Brunelleschi, we really wanted to go inside but the queues were huge so we missed out on this amazing landmark. Maybe next time!
I'm pretty happy with myself here as this is the first outfit I could wear after having no luggage for 24 hours so being reunited with my makeup bag made me feel like the happiest girl in the whole of Florence!
I hope you've enjoyed my travel diary whether you've visited Florence before or if you're thinking of booking your next city break.

I'd love to hear your travel experiences of Florence in the comment section below.
