PASTELS AND FLOWERS

What I'm Wearing:

Jacket - Zara
Top & Trousers - Warehouse
Bag - Warehouse (past season)
Shoes -Marks & Spencer

Just thought I'd share a recent outfit that I decided to wear to my Dad's graduation ceremony. The dress code for these kind of occasions is usually quite formal so instead of choosing a dress which requires too much tanning effort for a pale girl like me,  I went for a more tailored look.

I've loved wearing my pale blue Zara jacket so I paired this with these very pretty statement trousers and a simple v-neck yellow blouse, both from warehouse. This top is my first ever sunshine yellow buy and it certainly won't be the last! There's something about yellow pieces that really brighten up your day and make you feel good.

I'm also planning on teaming the trousers with flats for work whilst this handy yellow top will look great with white jeans for weekend wear.

Warehouse wasn't always my go-to destination for simple and stylish separates but it definitely will be in the future.

What have you chosen to wear to your graduation ceremony, post your links below!

Thank you for reading, as always.

NEW BRAND UPDATE: HOUSE OF PEARL

I came across House of Pearl at the Chic Networking event in Liverpool a couple of months back and I have been so excited about this brand ever since.

After meeting Val, the lovely owner and designer of the House of Pearl collection, I knew I had to keep my eyes peeled for the website launch which is now live here.

The Spring Summer '14 collection features beautiful dresses, in modern and vintage styles, embellished t-shirts, blouses, high-waisted trousers and an amazing range of statement necklaces. But the best part is, all items are handmade in the UK by talented and highly-skilled seamstresses whilst the fabrics are also locally sourced, so there really is great attention to detail.

The shapes and prints are simple, flattering and effortless and I think it's great that you can comfortably buy an outfit that's going to be unique, incredibly well-made and not worn by many.

Here are my must-have pieces from the super cool collection:

All items featured can be found here and you can also view the Lookbook for the SS14 collection here.

Thank you for reading as always and let me know what you think of House of Pearl below!

TOPSHOP JONI JEANS

I'm sure the Topshop Joni jeans need no introduction but I just couldn't help myself from blogging about my latest style which come bleached, ripped and in the most perfect pale blue denim.

I've always been a fan of Topshop jeans as they fit like a glove (as all good skinny jeans should), always update their range of styles and are reasonably priced, which is ideal if you wear jeans most of the time.

In the past I've been tempted to invest in some more high-end styles from the likes of J-brand or Levi's but I always seem to return to Topshop for yet another pair. What attracted me to this style at a first glance was the ripped knees. I've been looking for the perfect pair for a while and although I spotted other styles elsewhere the ripped knees seemed to be in strange places and I wanted the rips to be symmetrical on both sides.

Another plus about the Joni jeans is the figure-hugging fabric and super high-waist. I much prefer high-waisted styles as they tuck everything in and accentuate the waist as opposed to having a muffin-top whilst they also look great with crop tops, peplum styles, buttoned up shirts and blouses.

So far, I've teamed this style with everything from gladiator sandals to heels and a loose tee and I've felt good in them each and every time!
Worn with:

Gladiator sandals - Russell & Bromley
Crop top - Topshop
Watch - DKNY

Have you tried the Joni jeans?
