When Chanel launch a new foundation it's very difficult to resist. Although I'm a fan of my Nars Sheer Glow foundation and Benefit's Hello Flawless, I like to have one foundation in my beauty stash that is pure luxury and Chanel always ticks that box.

When the Perfection Lumiére Velvet foundation says 'velvet' it really does mean it. The first time I tried the foundation was whilst having a Chanel makeover in Manchester before a night out. A makeover is free in Selfridges if you are planning to spend more than £25 which is also redeemable off any products you buy. I would definitely recommend this service as it allows you to try lots of products before you buy!

As soon as the foundation was applied to my skin, it seemed to blend in incredibly well. When you try this foundation it appears to have a runny consistency but when dry it forms a smooth, matte finish which is ideal if you have oily skin like I do.

It's hard for me to say how this foundation would fare on dry skin but I would definitely give it a try if you are looking for a light foundation that blends seamlessly on to the skin. The coverage is good and a little goes a long way so I was pleased to find that this foundation is slightly cheaper than the original Perfection Lumière, whilst it also has SPF15 making it perfect for warmer climates too.

I was so pleased with my final makeover look which consisted of a flawless base, grey smokey eyes and a nude lip - something which is a first for me. As I have a pale complexion I didn't think I would be able to carry off a nude shade but I loved Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in 89 Satisfaction so much, I purchased that too!

It's smooth to apply and has a lovely glossy but non-sticky finish. It's a great shade if you're looking for a lipstick that's low maintenance and doesn't need re-applying all the time.

Here's my finished makeover look:

Have you tried Chanel's Perfection Lumiére Velvet yet?

I've been buying a few bits and pieces for my holiday as I'm jetting off to Bulgaria tomorrow so here are my favourite staple pieces that I will be trying to fit in my suitcase!

As always, Primark has lots of great buys at the moment including kaftan's, kimonos and playsuits. I had no intention to buy two playsuits but I couldn't resist the floral prints. I was also amazed to find a Calvin Klein bikini in TKmaxx for just £8 so I'd definitely have a peek in there if you're looking for swimwear - they had tonnes of choice.

I've credited each item in case you like what you see and want to go and hunt it down...

Paisley playsuit: Primark / White hat: Primark / Calvin Klein Bikini: TKmaxx

White hat: as before

Embellished crop top: Topshop

Printed shorts: Primark

Tropical print jumpsuit: Topshop

White hat: as before / Floral playsuits: both Primark

Crotchet bikini top: Primark  (bikini bottoms also available) / Split front skirt: Primark

What are you investing in for the summer?

I've been feeling generous as of late so I've decided it's GIVEAWAY time again!

The Nails Inc Gel Effect nail polish has been on my wishlist for some time as I love a glossy finish but wanted something other than shellac to avoid any damage to my nails.

This collection seemed to be the perfect option as it offers long-lasting colour and shine without the hassle and cost of having gel nails removed. When I spotted that the Nails Inc counter in Debenhams, Manchester, was offering a £10 manicure when you purchase a Nail's Inc polish of your choice I couldn't resist!

The longevity and quality of this nail polish has been great so far with hardly any chipped ends in a good few days, but it's worth saying that the nail technician did a base and top coat as well as applying two coats of colour for extra staying power!

This shade is called Kensington Passage and is a gorgeous hot coral, what do you think?

To enter the GIVEAWAY and win one Nails Inc Gel effect nail polish of your choice simply follow these steps:

- Comment below with your shade of choice and email address
(You can find the full range of shades here)

- Follow Sarah's Style Statement via Google Friend Connect

The winner will be announced on Monday 30th June so best of luck!
