MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH IN STEREO ROSE

On Saturday I had a very girlie day out with my friend Rosie that was mainly spent eyeing up all the designer bags in Selfridges, wandering around Zara for hours and eating copious amounts of cream cake in Patisserie Valerie. Literally one of the best days ever.

Whilst on our shopping travels, I picked up the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder in Stereo Rose which happened to be a very spontaneous beauty buy. The MAC make up artist brushed a touch of this powder across my cheeks and I was completely sold!

Only when I posted about my new buy on Instagram did I find out it's a sought after product that many beauty bloggers are currently trying to get their hands on so I feel very privileged.

When you look at the compact you would think that the pink pigment would be very defined when in actual fact it's a light shimmery effect when applied, what I'd call the perfect summer highlighting and blush combo.

This is my first experience of using a MAC powder and I can already tell that I'm going to want a replacement product in case this baby runs out!

It's perfect for sweeping across the cheekbones, forehead, nose and even just below the brow bone for subtle highlighting and contouring.

Have you tried MAC's Stereo Rose before?

Also, well done to Dani Hambridge for winning my Sleek blush giveaway, expect an email from me shortly! Thank you to everyone who entered, there's another giveaway coming soon!

THE HAT TEST

Over Christmas I was debating a hat purchase as I don't actually own any of this kind and just by luck, this gorgeous trilby hat was one of the gifts I received.

It's taken me a while to pluck up the courage to wear it, but I'm so glad I now own one of these hats as I think they are a little bit different. Plus, I do love a good accessory! This particular hat is a simple grey colour with black ribbon detailing so I've actually found it to be really versatile. In this outfit post, I've teamed it with my new satin-look tailored jacket and baroque tapered trousers.

I'm not sure if I can pull this look off and pass the hat test, but it felt good to try a new look!

What do you think of hats as an accessory?
