Manicure Monday: Revlon ColorStay Nail Enamel in Rose Beige

Thought I'd squeeze in a quick manicure Monday blog post as I'm pretty excited to show you my latest nail colour which is the Revlon Colorstay Longwear nail enamel in Rose Beige.

For someone who enjoys bright colour-popping nails in red, oranges and coral hues, a nude nail polish is quite a drastic change. As my complexion is pale enough without the addition of neutral nails, I decided to go for a more rosy pink shade, which I think adds a warmer tone that is perfect for the Summer.

Rose beige is a very pretty nude and I achieved the above with two coats of rose beige, followed by one coat of Revlon's quick dry top coat which worked a treat! The Colorstay nail enamels give a really high-shine finish similar to a gel manicure and if you're short on time I'd say you might not even need a topcoat. The nail enamels alone are pretty chip-resistant and my manicure seems to be holding out well!

This particular shade is from Revlon's new Mannequin Hands collection which includes a nude shade to suit every skin tone, ensuring that you get the perfect match!

The Mannequin Hands Collection is available here

REVIEW: & Other Stories Cleanse and Tone Treat

Cleanse and Tone Treat- & Other Stories

I recently paid a visit to the newly launched & Other Stories store on Regent Street to see what all the fuss was about and I was completely impressed with it's fashion and beauty offerings. Owned by the world-renowned H&M it was always going to be an amazing new store and I'm sure I'll be heading back in no time.

Although the clothes and accessories were so very beautiful, I decided to steer clear of the rails and gorgeous displays of accessories for the sake of my poor bank balance, and so I headed for the beauty section instead. (Talking myself into the mindset that buying a smaller and less expensive item isn't so bad...!)

The beauty counter itself was very inviting and all the products are neatly presented so you can find exactly what you're looking for. I've been looking for a slightly cheaper cleansing alternative for a while and I'm so happy I stumbled across this £5 cleanse and tone treat as it is a complete bargain and beauty saviour.

Before I made this purchase, I've been using an oil based cleansing oil (Shu Uemura Beautifying Oil to be precise) and although it's an amazing luxury product, I've really missed having a creamy cleanser to remove my makeup at the end of a long day. I find creamy cleansers to be much more gentle to my skin as it can be quite sensitive at times.

So here's what I love about this cleanser:

1. It's very good value for money and actually makes my face feel clean and refreshed after a long day of tube hopping and continuous walking through London. The scent of the cleanser does smell slightly sweet but not too overpowering and the formula feels light on the skin too.

2. I think the size of this product is absolutely perfect as it's great for carrying in your handbag or luggage if you are constantly travelling from A to B. I'm planning to take one on holiday in a weeks time!

3. The fact that it's a cleanser and toner in one go makes life a lot simpler, especially when you're tired and taking your makeup off feels like an absolute chore! Plus it also saves money as there's no need to buy two separate products.

4. The packaging is pretty nifty as it has a screw top that controls the amount of cleanser you use, ensuring that you don't apply too much in one go.

For my first & Other Stories beauty buy I've been very impressed and will be keeping an eye out more bargain buys. But for now I'm going to bulk buy this cleanser before it's gone!

You can buy the Cleanse and Tone Treat online here.

Would love to hear if you've been trying any & Other Stories beauty products?

OOTD: Motel Rocks Digital Print Crop Top and Topshop Joni Jeans

I decided that I've been in a bit of a style rut lately so I decided to purchase this crop top in mirrored neon digital print from Motel Rocks. Daring to bare that tiny section of my waist did feel pretty adventurous, but as my Topshop Joni Jeans are so super high-waisted it didn't really matter too much and I actually enjoyed sporting a crop top for a change. It is supposed to be SUMMER after all?

However, the weather in the UK can be a little deceiving so I teamed this cropped number with an oversized cardigan and boots to avoid having too much skin on show! Before I invested in this top I wasn't really sure about the crop top trend, but I've come to the conclusion that they are pretty versatile. I particularly love the amazing print of this crop top and the longer sleeves did make me feel slightly less exposed...

I'm off on holiday in less than two weeks so I'm looking forward to teaming it with high-waisted denim shorts and a flash of my Orly neon pink nail polish in Oh Cabana Boy!

What I'm wearing:

Crop top- Motel Rocks
High-waisted Jeans- Topshop
Necklace- Dorothy Perkins
Boots- Topshop
Cardigan- Topshop (old)
Mini Shopper Bag- Zara

Motel have tonnes of crop tops and great summer buys available here and by entering 'Sarahsstylestatement' at the checkout you will receive a 20% discount off your order! Make sure you check out their sale too as there's some great bargains to be had and it ends on Sunday.

Happy Shopping!

Let me know if you have dared to invest in a crop top this season?

REVIEW: Estée Lauder Pure Color Sheer RollerGloss in Succulent

Nothing beats a bright and colourful lip update and the new Estée Lauder sheer roller gloss in Succulent is the perfect summer pick me up! I've been using this product so much recently, that the name has already started to wear off which shows my dedication to this shining coral beauty.

This coral gloss is perfectly sheer but also gives enough colour to lighten and brighten the complexion, without the lips looking too overdone. In the summer, I always love to wear a coral lip as it's a super flattering way to give lips a well-needed update after the dark and sultry shades that are more popular during the winter months.

I'm not really used to using a roller ball to apply lip gloss but it actually glides on smoothly, without the stickiness that is quite common with other lip gloss products. It's also available in a hot pink shade and I'm already very tempted. Both 'Succulent' and 'Squeeze' are available here.

NAILS: Revlon Moon Candy Nail Art Pen in Milky Way

Revlon have recently launched a selection of super cool nail art pens and I'm so excited to show you the results of the Milky Way nail art pen from the Moon Candy collection.

To achieve this look I applied a base coat, two coats of the block colour polish which is a deep grey and one coat of the silver glitter polish to finish and it didn't even need a top coat!

These pens are absolutely genius as they have a polish at each end; a solid colour for the base coat and a glitter effect top coat. But this isn't just an ordinary glitter effect, oh no! This top coat has more of a flecked, mirrored effect which means it shines and reflects all different colours which is a totally new concept for nails.

What I love about these pens is the versatility they offer for only £7.99. As the pens are dual ended you are free to mix and match the shades with your existing nail polishes which means you could apply the moon candy top coat over any colour to create different nail art looks.

The Moon Candy collection has 7 shades and there's also the colour-popping Neon collection and Expressionist collection so make sure you keep an eye out for those too. I can't wait to buy more of them already!

Each nail art pen is £7.99 each and they are all currently available at Boots and Superdrug.

More Tomorrow!

This weeks High-Street Haul #1: Topshop, Zara and Primark

It's absolutely ages since I've done any kind of high-street haul or fashion post on my blog as I've been trying to restrain myself, since living in London is so super expensive! Although I have been TRYING to be good, I have bought quite a few bits and pieces over the last month or so. It's quite surprising actually, because when you have less money you actually think about your purchases more, and invest in more versatile and wearable items. So, here's my huge high-street haul which include my latest must haves from Topshop, Primark and Zara.

Statement Floral Printed Top from Primark, £10- (Paired with Gold Topshop necklace which is an older buy!)

I've had my eye on this Primark top for a while now and when I saw it again yesterday I just had to have it. I love the eye-catching colourful print, loose fitting and the fact that it could be worn with almost anything. I also think that it's really good value for £10! I'm hoping to wear it this weekend so I will make sure I do an outfit post.

Here's a close up of the print:

Primark black heels,£12 - They are also available in a black and white monochrome too!

Although I am yet to venture out in these bargain shoes (it's too cold!), I cannot wait to wear them this summer. The straps across the toes and ankles make them really flattering as they give the illusion of longer legs. I'm thinking of pairing them with some boyfriend jeans and a blouse, or dress for the evening. Let the outfit planning commence!

Primark Slouchy New York Top, £7

Now this top was quite an unusual buy for me as it isn't really my kind of style but I actually really love it. The fabric is really soft and comfy and I will be pairing it with my high-waisted Topshop Joni jeans and my converse. Perfect for a lazy Sunday!

Primark Grey Tee, £3.50, Necklace- see close up below!

A grey baggy tee is one of my absolute staple wardrobe items. This high-neck number from Primark can be worn with lots of different statement necklaces and worn with either jeans, or tucked into separates such as skirts and shorts. They have similar styles in Topshop too but why pay £10 when you can pay £3.50? They had these tees in numerous colours too.

Primark Cluster Necklace, £4, Matching Primark Cluster Bracelet, £2.50

It's impossible for me to go anywhere without picking up some kind of statement piece for my ever expanding jewellery collection. Necklaces like this one can really add that special something to a blouse, tee or shirt and I think this set really complimented a number of the tops I bought yesterday. See I am trying to be versatile... I also picked up the bracelet as it really would be rude not to, no?

Primark Mint Green Peplum Tee, £4

Another bargain I picked up yesterday was this mint green peplum tee for only £4. The fabric is really soft and has a linen effect although I know it's not real linen for that price. At the moment I'm wearing it with jeans at the moment but I'm thinking I'll get more use out of it when it's warmer. We can only hope the sun will come out...

Primark Grey and Neon Pink Printed Jumper and Primark Neon Spike necklace, £4

This jumper is another one of my absolute favourite buys from Primark! It's been so cold recently that I've wanted to wrap up warm so the splash of neon on this jumper has really helped to brighten up my outfits. The print is only on the front of the jumper but it really does look like a good-quality, expensive item- when it was only around £10-£12. I bought it a few weeks ago now so I'm not entirely sure. The necklace was only £4 though and I've been teaming that under the collar of numerous shirts.

Zara Black  Mini Shopper Bag, £22.99- BUY

My new Zara mini shopper bag has been an absolute saviour as it's the perfect size for chucking everything in, it's made from a sturdy leather-look material and it has a longer strap if I'm tired of carrying it on my arm. I've just spotted that Zara are making it in white and bright orange too so I'm thinking I may need another back up before they all go!

Zara Crossover Printed Top, £29.99-BUY

It was the colour and print of this top that really attracted me to it. It's a bold, bright blue with hints of red Aztec print and I've been wearing mine with a bold necklace, jeans and boots as you can see above. It has a deep crossover at the front so you may need to invest in some kind of cami too!

Zara Double Breasted Raincoat, £69.99-BUY

I think everyone really needs to invest in a raincoat at the moment with the awful weather we are experiencing in the UK at the moment. But maybe I'll just have to escape for a holiday instead? I purchased this coat as a transitional spring piece but I've had to wear multiple layers underneath as it's been too far too chilly. However, when the sunshine finally does arrive I think it will be the perfect coat. I was just a little eager on the spring summer wardrobe front!

Topshop Ponte High-waisted Treggings, £25-BUY (Available in Tall and Petite too)

My pictures of these 'treggings' (I hate that word) aren't very clear and don't really show you how wonderful these high-waisted leggings are. What I love about them is that they are quite thick yet very stretchy and let me tell you, they are super tight!

I went for this size 8 pair in tall as I have quite long legs and they really remind me of the American Apparel disco pants but without the high-shine fabric. I can see my buying numerous pairs of these as they fit like a glove and can be worn with crop tops, blouses and baggy tees for day and night. At £25 they aren't a bad price too. One word; LOVE.

I hope you have enjoyed my high-street haul and I'm sorry I've been neglecting everyone on the fashion front! I found out I got a job the other day (all will be revealed) so hopefully I will have a little more disposable income for some new high-street buys!

Let me know what you've been buying recently?

Have a great weekend too!

Benefit Beauty Review #3: They're Real Mascara and Instant Brow Pencil in Medium

Sorry for the delayed Benefit review post, I know it was supposed to go up yesterday! *slap on the wrist for me!*

If you've been reading my Benefit review posts you will know that this is the last one of the series and I've decided to focus on my favourite products of the bunch; the award-winning UK No.1 Best Selling They're Real mascara and also the Instant brow pencil in medium.

Lucky enough for me, I was introduced to all of these Benefit products by Lisa Potter Dixon herself, the head makeup and trend artist for Benefit.(You can follower her on Twitter @Lisa_Benefit where you will find some excellent beauty tips!).

It was amazing to meet her and I loved being shown which products would suit me best, as I can be an impulse buyer at times and purchase the wrong product entirely. And to me there's nothing more annoying than splurging on a product that you're never ever going to use.

Having recommendations from such an experienced beauty expert was super fun and the products picked out for me have been spot on so far, so I'll definitely be re-purchasing!

All I can say about this mascara is no wonder it's a number 1 best seller! I'm particularly fussy about the mascara I use as my eyelashes are fairly long but usually lack volume and curl, but since using They're Real I've noticed a huge difference. I've been using this very mascara for about three months now and although I probably need to invest in a new one, it's showing no signs of waning AND it's still giving me the same full impact after plenty of usage!

I don't go anywhere without wearing mascara so I would say this product is definitely great value for money as it's made it this far, despite my mega usage! It also seems to be quite conditioning as I've noticed no clumps or dryness, despite applying it on a daily basis.

If you haven't tried this mascara already, I would definitely give it a whirl!

During the same Benefit trip to their lovely store in Covent Garden, I also had my brows waxed and tinted at the brow bar and I would definitely recommend it if you're in need of a reshape and tidy up! I go through phases with my eyebrows and sometimes I'll get lazy, and then desperately want to have Cara Delevine-esque power brows in an instant (but no matter how hard I try, that never happens!).

Right now I'm really happy with my brow shape and Benefit also tinted them really naturally, which means I only need to use the Instant Brow Pencil to shade in any gaps or lighter areas where the hairs maybe aren't as dark.

This brow pencil is really smooth and easy to use and I love that one end has a brush for taming unruly stray hairs. Who else hates waking up to find that you've slept funny on your face so individual hairs stand up in a very strange way? I assure you this little comb will solve that nightmare..or is it just me that this happens to?

The medium colour is also subtle enough that it looks natural whilst also helping to enhance the definition of my brow shape. It's also available in three shades so there's a colour to compliment all brows, happy days!

Hope you've enjoyed my Benefit review series? Let me know what Benefit products you are currently loving below!
